Superheroes in scrubs.

Though many professions exemplify heroic characteristics, nurses have such superpowers - even if they don't wear capes. They answer the call times and times again.

Here are 5 reasons we celebrate our nurses.
1) They're brave - the healthcare field is not for the timid and nurses show courage in areas of their career. Not only are they able to handle chaos and make fast-paced decisions; they're literally on the front lines when it comes to healthcare.
2) They're selfless - Nursing is a strenuous career choice. Nurses have to juggle a lot of responsibilities. It requires a lot of time away from home, working odd hours, minimal or no time for social activities. Nursing is one career you have to love to be willing to make those sacrifices.
3) They're Strong - Nurses are both physically and emotionally strong.  They perform a lot of physically demanding procedures. On the other hand, the job requires emotional strength, and nurses have proved that their strength is paramount in keeping their patients safe.
4) They have super healing powers - Healing powers are definitely a sign of superheroes. Nurses are educated on how to help those who are sick, injured, or in pain. For nurses, their priority is the ability to heal.
5) They act as the liaison between doctors and patients - Being a patient advocate is one of the most important roles of the nurse in the hospital.  Nurses spend more time with the patients than their doctors do. Nurses have a way of influencing patients in a way that sticks with them long after they leave the hospital.

Nurses dedicate their lives to helping people every single day. Though their scrubs didn't come with capes there're the real-life superheroes.
