How VMC Medical Outreaches Improve Community Health Outcomes

  • May 06, 2024

The medical outreach programs organized by our local VMC chapters were established to provide care to groups that are at risk of illness, those who have limited access to preventive healthcare, and are considered vulnerable.

These programs typically provide at-risk populations with professional competence that they might not otherwise have access to either because of high out-of-pocket medical costs or distance from medical facilities.

Our VMC medical outreaches thereby fill the gap between underserved communities and access to Christian highly skilled healthcare providers. Through these outreaches, our medical volunteers give the beneficiaries the tools they require to take charge of their health and wellness in addition to improving their health outcomes.

A few examples of some of the effective VMC medical outreaches include:

-   Provision of safe treatment for both acute and chronic ailments such as was provided by VMC India Zone to hundreds of beneficiaries in communities in Thane and in Mumbai

-   The delivery of culturally appropriate health education by members of the VMC in the Barking, United Kingdom

-  Offering preventative treatment for common diseases; distribution of mosquito repellent medicines and insecticide treated nets in malaria endemic communities as was carried out in Swali community, Yenegoa by the VMC Bayelsa chapter and so on.

Our volunteers also carry out screening procedures and  link individuals to both short- and long-term medical services including surgical interventions where required. It has been demonstrated that these VMC medical outreaches improve the quality of life of our beneficiaries raise their  health-related knowledge and behavior, lower disease incidence, and  contributes to reduced financial burdens associated with sickness and disease.

The word of God was shared to all beneficiaries and many of them received salvation. Praise God!!

We believe in providing health services, promoting healthy lifestyles, preserving lives, and communicating the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ through our VMC good deeds. Join the fight against Malaria through sponsorship of 10 Espees and above, which will help us provide insecticide treated nets, medicines, and mosquito repellent packs to our beneficiaries
