The Volunteer Medical Corps (VMC) Nungua, Ghana carried out a transformative community health outreach at Ebenezer Senior High School and its surrounding environment in Dansoman. This impactful initiative aimed to meet the health needs of students and local residents while promoting wellness and preventive care.
Our dedicated team of VMC volunteers provided a range of essential health services, including blood pressure checks, blood sugar testing, retro screening, and malaria screening. Each beneficiary received personalised medical attention that included free consultations and provision of free medications to manage their health conditions. Special emphasis was placed on women’s health, with free sanitary products distributed to all female students and ladies in the community—helping to promote dignity and hygiene.
The outreach touched the lives of 201 individuals, leaving a lasting mark of care and compassion. More than just tests and treatment, the program offered hope, encouragement, and a renewed awareness of the importance of regular health check-ups.
Through this outreach, the VMC Nungua reinforced the importance of accessible healthcare for all, showing that preventive health services can change lives when taken into the heart of communities. Beyond the medical tests and treatment, the program created moments of connection, understanding, and encouragement—reminding everyone that their health matters.
We appreciate every volunteer whose dedication and compassion made this initiative possible, and we look forward to reaching even more people and communities this August, through our Good Deeds Fiesta.
