THE MISSION TRIP TO IBASA IJEGUN-EGBA COMMUNITY IN ORIADE LCDA OF AMUWO ODOFIN LGA
Ibasa Ijegun-Egba is situated on the island of Badagry Creek, it’s an Awori town located in the southern part of Oriade LCDA Lagos state, Nigeria. The community has a population of over four hundred thousand people residing across the land. The people of the Ibasa community are mostly fishermen and farmers, while some of the main occupations of the women are mat weaving, fish smoking, and petty trading. Their main agricultural produce is coconut and fish. The community seeks serious physical healthcare services as the primary health center they have access to is dilapidated. The health center is situated in a neighboring community known as Ibeshe town, which makes it difficult for the people in the Ibasa community to get quick healthcare responses for emergency cases. it seems the government is showing less or no concern about residents’ healthcare situation. The major illnesses the residents of the Ibasa community battle with are; cold, catarrh, diarrhea, smallpox, chickenpox, and malaria, among others; with no medical help in sight.

Mission Trip to Ibasa Ijegun-Egba Community

The Volunteer Medical Corps (VMC) Lagos Z6 team recently traveled across waters to impact and penetrate the Ibasa Ijegun-Egba community. As part of our mission and vision to have global medical outreaches geared towards the provision of prompt medical services in regions of crisis and dire need, the indefatigable team led by the esteemed Dr. Tobi Wealth, shined the light of hope to the elderly, youth, and children of the Ibasa community. The team provided free medical services ranging from breast cancer screening, eye checks, medical consultations, and deworming for children was carried out.

This singular act of the VMC Lagos Z6 team brought smiles to the faces of all beneficiaries in the community, and after a special ministration of the word, over 400 beneficiaries gave their lives to Christ, and all were gifted with some relief materials alongside Christian literature.
The VMC is committed to providing medical and humanitarian support to people and communities in dire need. Sponsor medical and surgical outreaches kits to communities in need today. www.volunteermedicalcorps.org/give
