In line with our mission to improve community health, the VMC Bayelsa organized a medical outreach in Opolo Community, Yenagoa, Bayelsa State. The outreach was a remarkable success, impacting over 150 people, including children. Free medical services were provided to residents, many of whom lack access to basic healthcare. The program featured free blood pressure (BP) and blood sugar screenings, allowing individuals to detect potential health risks early and seek necessary medical care. Additionally, our team of healthcare professionals offered treatment for common ailments, ensuring that people received appropriate medical attention.

To further empower the community, health education sessions were conducted, focusing on preventive measures, healthy lifestyle choices, and basic first-aid practices. These sessions helped beneficiaries understand the importance of regular health check-ups, proper hygiene, and disease prevention. Furthermore, to cater to the material needs of the people, free clothing items were distributed, adding a touch of kindness and dignity to the outreach efforts.

Beyond physical health, the outreach also focused on the spiritual well-being of the community. A major highlight of the program was the salvation of over 80 individuals, who gave their lives to Christ after hearing the message of the Gospel. These new converts were encouraged and guided in their faith journey, ensuring that they had a solid foundation to grow spiritually.

To support their spiritual growth, the outreach team distributed New Year’s Message audio CDs, “Now That You’re Born Again” booklets, “Keeping Your Healing” booklets, and 120 copies of the “Healing to the Nations” magazine. These materials provided guidance on Christian living, divine healing, and faith-building, helping the beneficiaries embrace a life of health, faith, and victory in Christ.

The medical outreach to Opolo Community was a profound demonstration of love, care, and service, impacting lives both physically and spiritually. Through the VMC Bayelsa, the residents of Opolo not only received much-needed healthcare but also encountered the transformative power of the Gospel.
