Volunteer Medical Corps (VMC) Pune recently carried out an outreach program focused on menstrual hygiene in the slums in commemoration of ‘’World Menstrual Hygiene Day’’ impacting the lives of over 40 females.
A basic explanation of the normal female reproductive system and adolescence was briefly introduced to all beneficiaries. The team shared tips with a live demo on how to use and rightly dispose of sanitary napkins. The common menstrual-related infections and conditions were emphasized and such as would require immediate treatment. An adequate diet and exercise plan for a healthy menstrual cycle were also advised.
VMC Pune empowered these women and girls with knowledge and resources to manage their menstrual health confidently. This outreach not only improves their immediate well-being but also lays the foundation for healthier futures.
We believe in providing health services, promoting healthy lifestyles, preserving lives, and communicating the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ through our VMC good deeds.
