Many prisons in Nigeria serve as remand facilities for both convicted felons and many who are awaiting trial thus the tendency for them to be exposed to medical conditions associated with overcrowding and insufficient sanitary facilities.
Following a preliminary needs assessment, volunteers with the VMC Loveworld Zone B visited the Aguata Minimum Prison in Ekwulobia Community, Anambra State where they provided medical consultation, treatment, and counseling to prison inmates and prison wardens alike. They also gifted the inmates and officials with sanitary kits and Christian literature as part of the VMC’s 1 Million Good Deeds Campaign.
