Food supplies for 50 people were donated by VMC Uganda to Kira municipality in Kampala.
This gracious act was carried out in order to prevent malnutrition and other health challenges linked with food insecurity among the indigent families in Kira, many of whom were affected by the ongoing restrictions imposed in response to COVID-19 pandemic.
These gifts were received on behalf of the community by Honorable Shammim Nalwaga; a representative of the Mayor and the Kira municipal council.
The VMC in Uganda has also established strategic partnerships for sustainable health development with relevant agencies and authorities in Kira Municipality. As a result of their donation of an ambulance, maternal delivery beds, and infant resuscitation equipment to the local hospital, the number of patients seen for antenatal services in the center tripled, and many more safe deliveries were recorded with trained birth attendants present.
