There had been a fire incident in a building on Childers Street, Deptford and the VMC team was contacted by the Councillor of Evelyn Ward Lewisham Council where the fire incident had occurred to help set up a food bank in the community centre.
This call came in response to reports of the impeccable services the VMC team had been rendering to the ward through 4 other food banks they had set up within the 2 month-long COVID- related lockdown.
Malnutrition and hypothermia were two medical conditions they had prevented by setting up these relief banks and this has impacted over 150 individuals so far.
